Join CAA

Join Camano Arts Association and you’re connected with an active, vibrant arts-focused organization. We are a unique mix of local artists and art enthusiasts, dedicated to furthering visual art and art-related events and projects in the Stanwood-Camano Island communities. As professional artists, we design, create and market our own original artwork, working in two and three dimensional forms of glass, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry and fiber. Most CAA members work in their home, home studio, studio and sometimes on location, known as “Plein Aire.”

Living on Camano Island and in Stanwood, we are close to many of the Northwest’s finest art events, festivals, shows and competitions that happen throughout the year. Many of our members take advantage of these opportunities to show and sell their work; many are affiliated with one or more of our fine art galleries. By joining CAA, you will have both connection and access to a large information system of art events, shows, artists calls and happenings throughout Puget Sound and the Northwest.

CAA’s most well-known public event is the Camano Island Studio Tour, which happens each year on Mother’s Day weekend and includes now the following encore weekend. It’s a free, three-day, self-guided and juried art show encompassing studios, galleries and even some beautiful gardens. It is Camano’s largest annual activity. You must be a CAA member to be eligible for jurying. To learn more, request a copy of the Artist’s Guide – Studio Tour Term and Conditions through our Board of Directors. But there are many other projects and programs to excite your interest as well.

Annual dues are $45; each membership fee automatically donates $10 to our very important Scholarship Fund for local high school senior art students. Other important membership items are:
Member’s Internet Gallery. Our new website features an online Member’s Gallery; you’ll be invited to submit a statement and an image of your work.

Membership meetings: held once a month from September to June. A place to meet and socialize with many of the area’s finest artists, and a chance to vote and help steer the association’s course and direction.

Volunteer!!! Opportunities abound. Step up and join a committee. Become a board member. Join one of the Art in Public Places work parties. Volunteer at your own level of comfort but DO volunteer. That’s what keeps CAA such a vital and energetic organization.

General membership meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at the Camano Center Building, 141 E. Camano Drive. To join, download our Membership form (pdf format) and mail it with your check for $45 to: Camano Arts Association, PO Box 2530, Stanwood WA 98292. ATT: Membership Chair. We’re happy to have you!
